Cold and dreary
The rain falls
Freezing
Coating the world in its ice.

A wonder to
Behold,
But oh so cold
Its embrace.
~
Under my roof
The only sound
A drip drip
As it comes down
~
But so heavy a weight
It lays on my world
An ounce at a time
Until!
~
Tree limbs snap
And crash to the ground.
With the sound
Of small arms fire.
~
